Two things must happen in order to trigger a direct booking: 1.) The casting director and/or client that is making the decision of what model to book for the job must be very impressed by the quality of the model's portfolio and comp card photos and 2.) The decision maker must also trust the source of the photos which is usually the photographer that created them.
Most casting directors will NOT book your child on the assumption that he or she will look like a real model in their ads - you need to be able to prove it.
